PE and Sports Premium

The Dales School receives specific Pupil Premium funding from the Department for Education to support PE and Sports activities for pupils.


In the school year 2017/18, The Dales School received £16,874 in PE Premium.
In the school year 2016/17, The Dales School received £8,365 in PE Premium.


2017/18 funding was targeted at:

  • Commissioning an outdoor sports coach
  • Commissioning a rugby coach
  • Commissioning a bus driver to transport children and staff to and from swimming and outdoor learning
  • PE equipment
  • Staff training in Rebound therapy
  • Sports Day
  • Swimming medals
  • National Trust membership to allow outdoor learning
  • Movin'Step equipment
  • Large sandpit
  • Marking of yard

  • Children having access to higher quality equipment
  • Pupils accessing PE activities outside school
  • Staff delivering high quality safe sessions
  • High quality provision during outdoor learning

  • Specialised coaching improves practise of all staff
