The Dales School is a happy, successful school and every child, parent and member of staff play their part in making it so. We aim for an environment which enables and encourages all members of The Dales community to aspire to great things in order to be happy, fulfilled and successful. For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education, it is vital that they attend regularly and every child should be at school, on time, every day the school is open unless the reason for the absence is unavoidable.
If your child is going to be absent from school, please contact school before 9am, either by telephone, or via the My Child at School app, to explain the absence.
If your child is absent and we don’t hear from you, or if we require additional information, school will contact you.
It is important that parents inform School about the reasons for their child’s absences. Please note that any absence from school without a valid reason is regarded as unauthorised.
On occasions where we believe there may be cause for concern, the Educational Welfare Officer may be called upon to help.
We want to make sure we keep every child safe and know exactly who should be in school each day. Thank you so much for your help with this.
