At The Dales School, keeping our pupils safe online is a key part of our safeguarding work.

Children use technology every day for learning, communication and entertainment. We help pupils understand how to use the internet safely, responsibly and respectfully.

All staff receive annual online safety training delivered by staff who are trained CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) Ambassadors. This helps ensure that staff can recognise and respond to online safety concerns.

Support for Parents and Carers

We work with National Online Safety to provide parents and carers with guidance and training to help keep children safe online.

Parents can access:

These resources cover topics such as:

  • Fake profiles and online scams

  • Privacy and personal data

  • Age-appropriate content

What Families Can Do at Home

Parents and carers play an important role in helping children stay safe online. You can support your child by:

  • Talking regularly about how they use the internet

  • Encouraging them to tell you if something online worries them

  • Setting age-appropriate parental controls where possible

  • Keeping devices in shared family spaces where appropriate

  • Agreeing simple family rules about screen time and internet use

Working together helps ensure children feel safe, confident and supported online.
