This week, the children of 6B have thrown themselves into our new topic of modern day famous people. They have talked about famous people they know, both real and fictional, and described a famous person of their choice to the rest of the class (we have learned the names of a lot of youtubers this week!). In maths we have practiced using place value, working out which is the tens and which is the ones, and have baked some banana and blueberry muffins in cookery as healthy treats.
The children have thought about themselves and created timelines of memories they have from being younger to right up until now, using cotton buds to paint images with. In science they have been testing out the properties of different materials with a range of experiments that have included using torches, testing flexibility with lego bridges and determining softness of the material with playdough.
Finally, in outdoor learning this week the children have done some tree rubbings, looking closely at the different bark textures, and have tended our area of the garden, weeding and watering to encourage our vegetables to grow. A great start to the term!
